‘Loupetoo’, directed by Abbas Askari, will take part in the Feature Animation competition of 12th edition of the ICFF.
The film’s name is inspired by the word Kermani people of Iran use to refer to handmade toys that mothers used to make for their children in the past.
The animation is about a hospital where Dr. Saeed Kamali treats his mental patients through letting them make toys.
“A person disguised as a patient vandalizes the workshop and causes its closure. The doctor’s son, Ali, tries to help his father to solve the problem,” a synopsis for the film reads.
Earlier reports said ‘Sara Birds’, directed by Meysam Shamsi, will take part in the Short Fiction competition of the Indian event.
The ICFF aims to provide “a common platform for the producers of Children films to project their views for proper development of children’s potential through meaningful educative films, and also for promoting friendship and cooperation among people of the world”, an online submission platform reads.
The 12th edition of the festival will take place on April 10-18.
